The Vital Gear You'll Want For Your Brand New Puppy

It is always pleasurable to get a new puppy but it will be easier if you have a few of the equipment that you need on hand before he comes back home. You will want to start schooling him right away to be a decent puppy resident and a appreciated member of your family. It is easier if you have the gear that you need on hand.

If you go to the pet store you will see that there are ample of dog products that you can buy. Some of these are useful to have and others are just a waste of cash.

One of the most notable things that you will need when you get a new puppy is a crate. Dogs like to have a hideaway that is their own space. Your training will go better if you use a crate. Make sure that you get one that is the right size for your puppy. You may want to have two in case you want one for the car.

A collar and a leash are also important. Get one everyday collar that fits well and save any special training collars for later. One six-foot, maybe retractable leash that is snug for your hand is also necessary.

Plan what your puppy will eat and get some food and water dishes. Stainless steel is usually best. Try to find out what sort of food your puppy has been used to eating and get enough of that for at least a few weeks. All dietary changes should be made in stages.

In order to be all set to start your training at once you will need to have some soft treats to reward your puppy and also some type of aversive. An aversive will deter your dog from troublesome manners as it is something that is absolutely harmless but your dog doesn't like it and will do everything he can to evade it. A clicker that makes a noise or a squirt bottle that squirts water are examples of diverse types of an aversive.

Young puppies need to chew until they get a bit larger so you will want to have some chew toys on hand. Start out with just a few until you know what your puppy likes. Same with other toys do not load up on toys until you know your puppy's individuality.
